[Excerpts] ...Blinn's girlfriend told police she and the officer got into a heated argument while driving in his squad car from Brownsburg to the woman's home in Pittsboro around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. At some point, Blinn pulled out his .40-caliber Glock pistol, and it discharged toward the door, said Hendricks County Sheriff's Lt. Jim Yetter. "The victim is saying that it was never pointed at her, but he did discharge the weapon inside the vehicle," he said. The woman was able to grab the gun and throw it out the window. Authorities said it was unclear how Blinn's girlfriend got the weapon, which police recovered. When the couple arrived at the woman's home, she called 911 and Blinn drove off, eventually parking his squad car nearby. Police later impounded the car... Police did not release the girlfriend's name but said she had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Through a police statement, she declined interview requests, to protect her children... An IMPD internal investigation will determine his future, said Chief Paul Ciesielski. He called Blinn's actions "potentially career-ending" because two felony charges would be enough for him to lose his job. "It's a very unfortunate incident," he said. "He's going through some personal problems that unfortunately bled into his job"...Blinn's initial court hearing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Hendricks Circuit Court in Danville. 1. I was the victim in the incident and it seems only half of the story has been told. I wish I could tell the rest. But unfortunately, I must protect my own children and myself.
